  • FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE Recall for 1988 PONTIAC LEMANS

    • Recall Announced MAY 19 2006

    • Number Affected 88,303

    Summary: Certain replacement fuel filters, fram brand name P/N G3727, with date codes X52911 through X60801 sequentially or X600141 and a mexico country or origin marking on the fuel filter housing manufactured from October 18, 2005, through March 21, 2006, sold for use on the vehicles listed above and on certain school buses. (to see the school bus engine sizes, click on "document search" and then "bus applications"). the connector on the fuel filter was not manufactured to honeywell's specification. As a result, the O-ring may not seat correctly on the fuel line.

    Consequence: This condition may cause an inadequate seal at the connection, potentially leading to a fuel leak. In the presence of an ignition source, a fire could occur.

    Fix: Honeywell will notify owners and replace the fuel filters free of charge. The recall began on October 18, 2006. Owners may contact fram customer service at 1-800-890-2075 (option 1).

  • SEAT BELTS:FRONT:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY Recall for 1988 PONTIAC LEMANS

    • Number Affected 182,045

    Summary: The safety belt buckle assemblies may not latch or may not release due to the fracture of the red release push button.

    Consequence: The buckle malfunction would prevent the use of thesafety belt system, placing the front seat occupant in increased risk of injuryin the event of a sudden stop or accident.

    Fix: Replace or repair the safety belt buckles.

  • SEAT BELTS:FRONT:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY Recall for 1988 PONTIAC LEMANS

    • Recall Announced OCTOBER 18 1988

    • Number Affected 85,063

    Summary: Seat belt buckles may not properly latch allowing the latch plate to be removed from the buckle without pressing the release button.

    Consequence: In event of a sudden stop or collision, seat belt couldrelease, increasing the risk of injury to occupants.

    Fix: Replace seat belt buckles.

  • FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:FILLER PIPE AND CAP Recall for 1988 PONTIAC LEMANS

    Summary: Fuel filler neck may have been incompletely welded, allowing fuel to leak from the neck assembly.

    Consequence: In the event of a collision impact, fuel spillage inexcess of amount allowed by FMVSS 301 could result in a fire.
