EQUIPMENT Recall for 1977 PONTIAC SUNBIRD
Summary: Certain honeywell fram racing brand HP4 and HP8 oil filters that were manufactured from May 25, 2006, through September 14, 2007, and sold for use as replacement equipment for vehicles list above. The affected filters are marked with a date code A61451 through A72571 sequentially. The date code and part number appear on the filter housing. Fram racing HP4 and HP8 oil filters not bearing a date code in this range are not affected by this recall. The gasket of the oil filter becomes more pliable under high temperatures and pressures.
Consequence: This condition may cause inadequate sealing and loss of engine oil, possibly resulting in a fire.
Fix: Honeywell will replace the affected oil filters free of charge. The recall began during November 2007. Owners can contact fram customer service toll-free at 1-800-890-2075.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE Recall for 1977 PONTIAC SUNBIRD
Summary: Operation of the vehicle in a manner which produces hard bottoming out of the front suspension may cause deformation of the left engine mount support structure and allow the engine mount bracket to contact the steering pitman arm or steering linkage.
Consequence:
Fix: An engine mount support bracket reinforcement kit will be installed on the left front engine mount support structure without charge to owner.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS Recall for 1977 PONTIAC SUNBIRD
Summary: On the involved vehicles, the incorrect fuel hose pipe was installed. Consequently, the needed special reinforcement, used to help prevent rupture of the hose and spillage of fuel resulting from an impact from the side, was omitted. This would constitute a non-compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard no. 310, "Fuel System Integrity".
Consequence:
Fix: Dealer will inspect and, if necessary, install the correct fuel hose without charge to owner.
